Ilona Gawęda

A lifelong skier and passionate climber, I am driven to continuously push my limits. My experience spans winter classics in the Tatra Mountains, major Alpine routes (including Anouk, Walker Pillar, and Freney Pillar), and global ascents across Yosemite, Patagonia, Lofoten, and Wadi Rum. I have also co-developed two new routes in the Indian Himalayas' Miyar Valley.

Moving to Switzerland in 2015 introduced me to exceptional granite climbing—such as Furka Pass and Salbitschijen—and world-class ski touring. Whether for work or personal adventure, I thrive on planning expeditions and exploring new terrain across the Alps and around the globe.

My greatest joy lies in sharing the mountains with others, whether we are navigating multi-pitch climbs across Europe's diverse rock faces or seeking out the best conditions for ski touring and freeriding. I view guiding as a true partnership; I am eager to share my technical expertise and passion for the alpine environment, while also deeply valuing the camaraderie and fresh perspectives I gain from my companions.
