Przemysław Wójcik

I was born in Krakow in 1984, but I've lived in Zakopane since birth. My love for the mountains was instilled in me by my parents, who are Tatra guides, and from a young age, my brothers and I went hiking with them. I started climbing at the age of 15, at the end of elementary school, on the school climbing wall, where I became deeply involved in climbing and mountains. During my studies, I became a TOPR rescuer and a third-class Tatra guide. After graduating with a geography degree, in 2013 I became a PSPW/IFMGA high-altitude guide, a profession I have pursued professionally ever since.

I love climbing in all its forms and freeriding. In rocks, I've climbed to 8b+ difficulty ("Shimmer and Shine", "Come out and play"), and in the Tatra Mountains to 7c+ ("Łamaniec", "Variant PP"). I've skied down peaks such as Długi Giewont to Szczerba and along the north face of Mięguszowiecki Szczyt Czarny, among others. I've climbed in the Tatra Mountains, the Alps, the Sino-Tibetan Mountains, and the Indian and Nepalese Himalayas. My most exciting mountain adventures include new alpine-style routes in high mountains:
- "Independence Day" on Pharilapchy (6071m) in the Nepalese Himalayas, together with Michał Król and Andrzej Sokołowski (WI 5+, M7, 1200m) in 3.5 days; - "Polish Route" on the untouched summit of Geruda Peak (5640 m) in the Indian Himalayas with Michał Król (VII+, 1x AO, ice 50-60 degrees, approx. 900 m); - "Scottish Route 1979" on Niuxin Shan (4942 m) in the Qonglai Mountains (China) with Marcin Kacperek and Andrzej Sokołowski (VIII-, 4x AO, approx. 1000 m) in 3 days.

Besides guiding, I also train new guides. Since 2018, I have been the chairman of the PSPW Technical Committee and a PSPW high-altitude guiding instructor.

I enjoy being in the mountains with great people, and time spent with family or friends climbing or skiing is always wonderful for me – guiding gives me the opportunity to extend that time :)

My guiding activities are quite diverse.

In the summer, I lead both high-altitude mountaineering and both easier and more challenging climbs. I also enjoy guiding in areas I haven't been to before.
In the winter, I mainly focus on freeriding and ski mountaineering, which I alternate with ice and mixed climbing. Avalanche analysis is a particular area of interest to me, and I enjoy sharing this knowledge, primarily through advanced courses.
